Every now and then, you gotta drive around your small town and find that one bridge/wall/railroad car that every teenager in the area has painted their slang, names, and hopes and dreams on. Then you must take pictures by it, it’s almost required. I’m not saying you need to get out that spray can I know you carry in your purse and make your mark on that epic spot. Because that’s illegal right? I’m not saying I’ve done this, buuuutt I’m not saying I haven’t.
This world is big and if you let it consume you, you can feel pretty small. It’s easy to feel this way or regardless of how much you try, you feel like you can’t make a difference or stand out. I struggle with feeling like I won’t fulfill my purpose or leave my mark. But I can and so can you. One of the ways I make myself stand out is by what I wear. We are all walking billboards, advertising who we are by just one glance. What does your personal billboard say? The fashion industry is always changing, just like us. Every day our views change, the world changes, evolving into something new and something, hopefully, better. Every day we wake up with breath in our lungs, we are getting a second chance to start over. Take that new day and make a difference. No matter how old you are, you have a voice and you can change the world.
A song that I try to listen to everyday is a new one by Big Sean. It’s called “One Man Can Change.” I’m not the worlds biggest rap fan, but this song came on the radio the other day and it quickly became my new inspirational song of the month. The song talks about how if you want to change the world you need to have support and create plans to make it happen. One man (woman) can change the world, and it might just be you. If you don’t have a song that inspires you, find one! It’s one of the easiest ways to put your mind in a positive mindset in about 3.5 minutes.
Speaking of positive mindsets, this bright and funky dress I’m rocking puts me in the best mood. It was a gift from my beautiful Nana she bought from Macy’s. Along with the necklace. I have my necklace doubled, the first layer in a 90’s choker style and the second layer hanging long and free. This wool hat is my new obsession. These hats are breaking through the boho/street style genres of style and becoming very popular. I snagged this solid black hat from Forever 21 for just $15.00. My wrap bracelet is from Maurice’s. I don’t typically shop there, but they always have great deals on good quality jewelry. My outfit is quite the statement, and it might not be everyone’s style. That’s more than okay. Find your style and make your mark on this world. And don’t forget to have confidence in the fact that you can change the world if you put your mind to it!
